Anyone seen this video or know where to get it? I've looked and called all over and can't find one. Nature Visions doesn't sell it on their site either.

"Muskies Live!" will be available by the end of the month. Should be able to find it at most of the major fishing retailers, or at http://www.muskieslive.com. You can also check out a preview of the DVD at that address.

Well, you cannot buy the video there--it says it's "not available online" and to "contact local retailer to purchase." Hence me checking with SW today...

Anyone know if this disk is available yet?

Sportsman's Warehouse in DePere does not have this, nor does Gander Mountain in Green Bay. So either it hasn't come out yet, or they aren't carrying it. But GM carries a lot of In-Fisherman videos.

I am going to check at Farm & Fleet today as well.

It has not been released yet. Your best bet is to directly contact Nature Vision.

Got a chance to watch the video tonight and must say it is Over-Rated. Not much more than an hour long ad for Aqua View and the Crazy Crank Train Wreck bait. There was footage of muskies following but not many strikes. Some of the footage was cool but not worth the $20 plus shipping. It does have a good "how to" on the video trolling setup. Has anyone else seen this video? Thoughts?

Hi:
I have not seen the final edited copy yet, I hope to have it next week. As far as what I wanted to accomplish for my role in the video was:
1. Teach people how to video troll so they could get live Muskie footage on their own, without wrecks.
2. Tell people what was going on when the fish were actually following, depths, speeds and where they were coming from.I found this fascinating while doing the trolling and was hoping it came through in the video.
3. Show folks the techniques I used to locate the fish with the camera and how I approached structure and types of structure.

If this was in the video and came through I will stand behind my efforts 100% and help anyone who wants to learn how to do this. I think this may be the start for what is to come:
A. Lure makers testing baits and watching fish responses( one guy on these posts I tested a awesome looking bait for today) In the video watch the reactions to the Vibration of the Spinner. There is no one alive that wishes more than I, the one fish would have hit something other than the dang spinner. I will be trying lots of new baits earlier this year.
B. Overall study of what they respond to
C. Break up the boredom of trolling, watching follows.
D. Learning Cribs, deeper weeds, rocks, sand etc. a awsome tool for learning water.

I would appreciatte any and all suggestions for what should be done if another video is attempted to improve it.

Love it all Don!

I think it would be real cool too if you got one of Steve's hydrophones too. Real cool too if you could add a small display in one of the corners of your TV screen shot showing the actual acoustics/intensity of the lure while running. May not be possible when you running next to a running engine and prop though Could always make a giant planner board or tow a small rig/boat behind that your downrigger/camera/line go back to and run it though a pulley system so you can still adjust depth. This would also give you the heads up on any structure you need to adjust for as you would see it on your depth finder 10-20 feet before your downrigger/camera system gets to it. Need to draw some pictures as I suck describing things. See attached.

Don, Have you thoguht of runnign that quade Aqua Vu camera system? Might need a little bigger screen but then you woudl have a camer showing what is coming. I know many times "what is coming" is only about 2 feet away by the time the camera can see it... Even running a front depth finder might do a little for an alert. This is my main worry about doing this. The lake I go to in Canada is not forgiving. 30foot-2feet all in about 10 feet distance. I can say good bye to my downrigger and camera if I find some of those spots They will all be tied with a 20 foot length of rope but I can still see myself destroying a lot of stuff... Wonder if State Farm Insurance covers this LOL

PS-Let me kwow when and where I can buy that video.

Man, I love it ! like I said in my previous posts this is only the start. You are thinking to a whole new level with this and your efforts here prove that.It sounds like your camera is on the way. People like you motivate me and we should talk sometime about your system design. We can learn tremendous amounts about these fish with this type of thinking. As long as we protect them I am excited about this. We all can learn by doing it ourselves or watching and learning from others. There are many guys smarter than I am that will take this to new levels.

What I have set up for this year is a Viewing system at boat side rigged on a Trolling motor mount with a camera to record fish coming in on all lures, this will help us understand a little more. I am sure others are doing this already.I have seen it on posts, like banging rocks trolling, maybe we can record some triggers on 8's etc. and watch and learn.

I also have a board rigged with a camera, I tested it yesterday when watching some baits.I have to improve it( thought I had it), but it is real close, my friend that was with me had some good ideas as well.

In regards to baits, I think many baits at many times will work just that we really do not know, no 2 situations seem to be the same . We have to take information from the guys who have spent 1000's of hours on the water and go from there. Every bait I make as with anyone is for a Reason ! For some reason we think a fish will eat it, vibration, flash, color, size, weedless etc. etc. etc.

Your comments on State farm crack me up ! But very very valid and the system you are talking about is a great idea. Please be careful, also make sure you run the exact routes with the GPS and monitor depths before doing any damage to your equipment. It is not a exact science but if you know it goes from 20ft - 2 ft make sure you approach that structure in a way that you can get around it safely. I really got a lot of follows by working structure deeper then going shallow.

I am updating this message with a couple of clips I made that show the importance of learning your routes with your sonar and GPS.

Clip 1 is a believer:
I found this shoreline with a variety of fingers and points coming off , the depths varied a lot. I took the bait into the structure off the points, very effective but dangerous. You will see what could have happened.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ALelca_ngY

The second clip is a Trainwreck: I saw these weeds on the graph and was curious what they were, the depth was consitant so i took the camera and set the ball and pulled the bait just over the top to see what these weeds were. This was at dark with a low battery but you can still see what I am talking about.

Learn the routes before damaging your equipment.
