First fish in the boat for dad and I during the Tuesday night Muskie League. Great one to start the year off with. We sure do like fishing the league and socializing with everyone at Gerrits Lake View Inn afterwords. Im sure we will miss a few weeks due to work. But when we are here it forces us to stop working and get out on the water one night a week with my son Cole and that's whats counts. Cole had a muskie up in the first few casts and lost a nice pike later on. Other than the unbelievable amount of bugs on the water right now our first night of league was a good one.

Thanks guys! Hope we get another in the boat this coming week. The shirt is a Tommy Harris Custom painted blades shirt it has a walleye in a spider web with the Spinner blades on it, awesome shirt. I use Tommy Harris Blades on some of my Violent Strike Spinner Baits and really like the patterns he has to offer.

Dad and Cole and I put two nice ones in the boat last night a 35.5" and a 40.5". Felt good after missing a week of league. Both fish hit in about 10' of water on a crank bait. My first ever back to back casts catching muskies. What an adrenaline rush.

I was lucky enough to put one in the boat this week. This one was caught on a crank bait in 7' of water. My dad had this fish follow his lure out of the slop and it cruised out into deeper water and made a mistake.

I don't fish in the league, but I do have a cabin on Pelican. I am just curious if anyone actually musky fishes on Pelican for the league, or is most everyone fishing some surrounding lakes?
And for those who fish Pelican throughout the season, have you had much luck? It has been tough for me the past few years, so I generally go to near by lakes rather than struggling to locate fish on Pelican.
