It's 0600 and I've been home from the hospital for about 12 hours after having a C5-C6 Laminectomy and Foraminotomy. I ended up staying three days in the hospital due to a fever of unknown etiology that I spiked on the day after surgery. Boy, once they took me off the MSO4, that's morphine sulfate for for you non medical types, pump and switched me to oral oxycodone I've really been stiff and really sore. Ice helps some, as does sitting the recliner with pillows under my arms. I haven't slept more than a couple hours at a crack either. I should start improving quite rapidly over the next few days though. I don't have any tingling or numbness in my arm at all so the surgery was definatley a sucess. I'll keep everyone updated here. Well, it's been four days since my back surgery and so far so good. I'm still having a lot of pain, but it's tolerable. I go and see the surgeon for a follow-up appointment next week and we will go from there.

I went to see my spinal surgeon today and I indeed have another herniated disk, probably one level up from the last one so worker's compensation will probably not pay for it. I am having really bad radicular pain in my left leg and parathesia's in the medial aspect of my left foot. It looks like I will have to have surgery again. I'm having another epidural methylprednisolone injection on the 14th so hopefully that will help a lot again. Wish me luck everyone.

I'm sicker than a dog today, I wish I could go to the 12 Apostles dinner tonight.
