Just taking a break from the stripping process. | Here's the glue step in between strips. After the glue is placed you lay on the strip and staple of clamp them to hold while the glue sets. | Here's a picture of the transom (and my mom's dog). The boat will be named Natalie's Pride after my daughter. | Here is the fully bent and clamped stem waiting to cure.
Here we take the glued stem strips and clamp them to the stem form. I was amazed how you could actually bend 2-3" of wood by bending slowly and using clamps. | Here we are gluing the stem strips with epoxy paste. | Here is the step where you tape the forms to keep epoxy from dripping to the forms. | Here we are beveling the forms so the strips fit the form of the boat.
In the end we went with a completely cherry transom stained dark for contrast. | Adding epoxy prior to laminating the transom. The transom is going to be three wood layers - one oak, one cherry, and one walnut. | Here we are laminating the transom. | Here we are with cut out transom pieces.
