Here's the glue step in between strips. After the glue is placed you lay on the strip and staple of clamp them to hold while the glue sets. | Just taking a break from the stripping process. | A picture of the lines of the boat during stripping. | Now both sides are catching up on the strips.
Fairing the front stem a little more. As you get to the water line on the boat the cedar strips really start to torque and you are adjusting the front of the boat to keep the strips tight. | Done for the day - we got within a few inches of the keel with our strips. | Here's the bottom of the boat and this is getting trickier - it just takes more time as you have to trim each piece to match the keel strip. Just time consuming. | Another out of order picture - here we are cutting the strips to size. The strips are 3/4" wide and 1/4" thick.
Same thing here - out of order. He we are fairing the internal stem. The strips have to sit flush on the stem so you use a rasp or plane to shape the stem so they are flush. | A little out of order on these last 4 as I didn't have these pictures on the same camera. Here we are truing up the boards prior to cutting strips. | A little out of order on these last 4 as I didn't have these pictures on the same camera. Here we are truing up the boards prior to cutting strips. | Here is a picture of the leveling of the strips to the keel stip with a plane.
