| Gino, do Cranes have a slit cut the length of the belly to put the wire harness in like big game baits or are they true through-wired?

Location: Glen Ellyn Il | Yes that is correct they have a slit cut under the belie and the wire is one continuous wire than its trapped by the middle hook, there is where the lead weight is installed. The wire is only couple mm underneath the belie. The lip you have to cut a slot so it fits over the wire. It's very easy to do due, to the bait is made out of balsa wood. To give it strength I use propionate to seal the bait with about 8 dipping's
Too bad the pic are a little blurred, I usually do a better job on taking pic.
