Posts: 1100 | So i ordered a couple of believers, and as far i as i understand they are a pretty boyent bait, does do people have any nice tricks to get them to almost suspend, would like a super slow rise. I'm getting a 8 and a 10 inch jointed. Tight Lines,

Posts: 2015 | If you want a suspending crank why not just use something like a DDD or countdown DR?.... IMO- Believers are a great bait because they are extremely buoyant - very versatile bait, the buoyancy creates the bait to work shallow over and through weeds, even can be used as a topwater... crank it down and it will kick out aggressive if twitched hard , work it slower almost like a Suick... and "wanders" great if you want to troll it....I think you will "kill" the bait and most of its fish catching qualities by attempting to make it a suspending bait. But if you do as mentioned above a weighted leader is probably your best choice.

Posts: 1100 | yes one of my consernes was to kill the action, i'll try a weighted leader, and/or some lead to the treble eyes, to se how it does :D otherwise it just fit some other situation.

you can also wrap solder wire around the shank of the hooks. use equal lengths of wire per hook.

Posts: 483 Location: NE PA | Just google "stick on wheel weights" Lots of different hits should come up. Or you may be able to stop by an auto shop and pick some up.

Posts: 1247 Location: Walker, MN | I actually think that the pronounced action and buoyancy of a believer could make it a perfect candidate for tinkering. After all, what is the difference between a depth raider and a countdown depth raider...just weight right?
