Posts: 345 Location: Poynette WI. | yes it is, and I believe its actually fairly simple from what I've heard. I believe there are some you tube videos and past threads about this too. I'm also interested in doing the same thing. Ill let you know if I find anything on it.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | I recently converted an NACL from 6.4 to 5.4, and all that was required was changing the main (drive) gear and the pinion gear. I believe it is the same in this case.

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | The Revo Toro are a little harder because they have tweaked them a few times over the years and there are several that are the same but the internals are just a little different. Make sure the the spool, yoke, and drag parts are on the same (4.6:1 vs 5.4:1) in the parts schematics and you should be able to order parts from that 5.4:1 model to put in your Winch.

Posts: 410 Location: With my son on the water | I think I have changed out about 15 or more of them. Several for myself and several for my buddies. Call Abu Garcia to get the part and it is correct all you need to do is change the pinion and the big main gear. It cost roughly $40+ with shipping but if you bump your order up to $50 the shipping is free. So it is a good time to order parts too. I have changed them to 5.4 & 6.4. You have to remove the spool and there is a screw on the inside next to he spool that needs to come out so you can remove the side plate that has the handle on it. Be a bit careful and put parts in order of how you took them out. It is also a good time to clean everything up. Revos are good reels and they will never wear out because you can replace eveything. How we have improved over the years. Get back to me and I can probable get you the phone number, part numbers, and send you some photos if you need some help. And hey, as always have a good day because the other way is worse.
