Looking to buy an alumacraft dominator 185 sport this winter. Does anyone on here have one that could measure the boat sitting on the trailer. Length, width, height to top of windshield. I know it depends on trailer so just specify which one you have. I have asked dealers and they all have different measurements and dont ha eone close enough to go measure myself. I wish they would list those things on there website like lund does with there boats.

| I have a 2011 navigator 175 I could measure if you would like me to. Could just add a foot to the length. Have a shoreline trailer. Let me know. I have the cs edition not sport.

Location: pittsburgh, pa | Thanks for the offer. Im more worried about the height than anything. Im pretty sure it will fit in my garage length and width wise. Height will be my problem. I can store it outside but would rather not. A few dealers have came back with 21 foot 2 inches length wise with motor trimmed down and swing tongue folded. My garage is 21 exactly so im surei can squeeze it if i turn it a little. And i have 106 wide for garage opening. Height wise is my problem. Its around 78. Im having a new garage door put on soon so im waiting to see if they can make it taller. If i can get it extended to a 7 footer from what ive read i should be fine. Just not sure if its possible with how my garage is built. They would have to rip the frame down and rebuild it which may cost more than its worth.

Location: pittsburgh, pa | Thanks vms. Id appreciate it. It sucks theres no dealers around here. And when you ask the dealers and get different answers it sucks. I know they are trying to sell me the boat and may just tell me what i wanna here. I was looking at putting a 150 yamaha and 9.9 kicker on the back. A few people from other boards said they would be worried about it being to heavy in the nice try end. Dealers pushing me to do the 115 but worried about it being underpowered with the 115. Most of my fishing is local inland smaller lakes. But do go to clair a few times a year. Think i would be fine withthe 115 or go with the 150.

| The max hp on the boat is 150 so I would go with that. I was always taught to go with the most hp you can afford. Alumacraft anticipated that people were going to run a 150 and I'm sure the boat will be fine. Mounting and a propeller will be able to compensate for anything you don't like. The weight difference between the two motors are 105 pounds but you also get 35more hp to take care of the added weight. Dealers tend to push you towards what they already have in inventory or pre-rigged. I'd definitely want the extra hp if I was fishing St. Clair. |

| Co-worker bought the Alumacraft Trophy this spring, put a 135 Opti on it and said it is OK but not real peppy. Very similar hulls. |

| I have a 185 Tournament Sport which is very similar to the Dominator, but not exactly the same. If you are worried about height of the windshield and trying to get it in your garage, you should be fine. My door is only 7 feet high and the windshield clears with room to spare. The Big Suzuki on the other hand does NOT! Learned that the first time I tried to put it in when the motor was still up on the transom saver. |

Location: WI | I've got a tourney pro 175cs. It's 249" or 20'9" with the 135 2 stroke down. It's on a shore lander foldaway trailer. I know it's not exactly what your looking for but gives you an idea. Also my 135 pushes my boat good. Good hole shot and I can touch 50 with a half tank by my self. 46mph two guys and gear. If I was getting a 185 I would put at least a 150 on it. Or what ever the max is. |

Location: pittsburgh, pa | Max is 150 and thats what im putting on it. Now I just have to find the right deal. Does anything feel that when you go to a boat show that you can actually get a really good deal. Im in no hurry to get one this fall. Just want it for next year. A few people said that the boat shows give out great deals and others say they dont.
