Last fall, still grieving the sale of my 681, I decided to find a new project. One thing on my mind was that I wanted to get just a little more use out of my boat beyond fishing; I wanted a boat that could do double-duty with some big water duck hunting as well. I found a bare boat/trailer-no motor LundPro V tiller for sale. It was in great shape but the 90s green carpet and seats were just too bright for the duck blind.

I'm a bargain hunter so, after pulling the green carpet, I found a roll of OEM Lund camo vinyl flooring on eBay. Same stuff they use in their Alaskans. I used this on the front and rear decks. The main cockpit got heavy duty black no-slip vinyl to deal with mud, muck (and slime).

Another bargain find, I came cross a Mossy Oak Shadowgrass Blades vinyl wrap in the local Cabelas Bargain Cave and later added to this with additional pieces directly from Mossy Oak.

We added a 24v system with a Powerdrive and charger to the front and a separate 12v Minn Kota Waterfowler and charger to the back.

The Yamaha Pro 50 has a fresh rebuild on it and is ready to go.

The boat still needs a bunch of things... I'm getting ready to order a Styx River camouflage Neomat removable neoprene floor mat to cover the black vinyl in the cockpit, I need to camo the gunwales, and, of course, we'll have to get a blind before duck season, but it's been a fun project and I'm looking forward to extending my boat's usability a little. Anyway, with duck season just around the corner and the fishing just about to get good, I thought it would be fun to post some pics, starting with a "before..."

That's some really nice work right there. Hunting open water is a blast, and that's going to be a great rig for just that.
I used to hunt alot of big water in a 18' PolarKraft jon boat tiller. Especially geese/mallards at one of the big impoundments south of here. Most guys don't realize how much the birds love open water....Unbelievable.

Good luck this Fall at both.
