Wondering how many of you guys have made your own mount specifically something more beefy like a metal or steal mount? Have some ideas for ice fishing this winter and if I put that camera under the ice I want something better then plastic.

I used a painters pole and threw the camera tripod mount on it. Works great as a extendable go pole.
Ive been kicking the idea around of making some form of bracket and steel rod with the handle bar mount to mount to the side of the boat underwater for boatside and fight footage.... Just a little nerve racking with the camera down there would have to tether it off pretty good.
