Posts: 666 Location: Moses Lake, WA | When you put the tape on run a small bead of Superglue in gel form just inside the edges, apply the foil, cover with a piece of wax paper, and wrap lure with painters tape to flatten all the edges and leave in place until dry. It's a very common problem and everybody eventualy evolves their own techniques for dealing with foil laid over lure curvature.

Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I was talking with the Kramer Bros, and I am pretty sure they use Super glue. So do that, and you wont have issues anymore Edited by FAT-SKI 7/30/2014 9:41 AM

Mnmusky does not appear lost. Loons hard head is one answer to your question and it works just fine and a bit less messy then super glue.

Yep. Comes in clear, black, and a few other colors I believe. It's a single part epoxy, requires no mixing.

I cant speak for any other brand. I threw out the suggestion as its clear and you can easily wipe off any squeeze-out. I think with superglue, squeeze out, if not careful, may not turn out so good. I use black loon to make pupils in glass cabochons (eyes) and to fast- patch hook rash, teeth marks in lures to prevent water log and ultimately keep the topcoat from cracking. also use it to glue the eyes to lures before epoxy coating. and of coarse bucktail thread.

Posts: 666 Location: Moses Lake, WA | Super Glue in liquid form definitely has squeeze out problems, but in gel form you can run an extremely fine bead along the inside edges and it doesn't move. When compressed it will squeeze out like all glues - that's what the wax paper is for, it's pretty much non-stick and the tape holds the edges down until the glue sets up.
