I'm wanting to get a couple planer boards to try but I'm not sure what to get. I'm looking at the church tackle tx-44 and the walleye boards. I would not be running anything larger than 5" tuff shads or 5" scuba divers. Will the walleye boards handle these ok or do I need to go with the bigger boards?

I use off shore with OR-18 clips.

Just watched a video with Greg Thomas showing the off shore boards and the or-18 clips, looks like a pretty good set up, thanks for the advice guys, I think I will go with them instead if the church tackle boards.

Church Boards.

Much easier on/off.

Church TX-44 with the Lock Jaw snap. The initial setup cost isn't the cheapest, but it will handle the really big baits. I run mine mostly with Headlocks and they are up to the task, even at 4.5MPH.

The walleye boards will work with the baits you want to run with the locking clip. Its what I run and have been for over 17 years. I just bought some TX 44 boards to use on the outside on a 6 line trolling setup(minoqua chain).:-)

I have the walleye and the TX44's and i prefer the walleye especially if the 44 goes under.

Much prefer my buddy's mast and big boards.

Thanks again guys, lots of good info. I'm gonna go with the walleye boards for starters and see how it goes.

I prefer the Mr walleye boards they are about as easy as it gets, especially if you fish alone. They can pull most avg size baits. For Bigger baits go with the TX 44s. You can have the best of both worlds by modifying the Mr Walleyes by drilling one hole and add the OR 18 clips.
