The camera has a balancing and keel system to keep it steady and the optics are unmatched. No cases surrounding the camera and it can be fished as deep as any Muskie will roam. The MSRP will be $199.99, it records on a mini SD card. With a 16 gig card you get 4 hours of recording time. The options on the camera will be limitless... casting, live bait, trolling, etc. More information will be released after ICAST in a couple of weeks.

Very cool! I had never even heard of Savage until I picked up a real Eel that I posted about. How light is that thing? Is it really castable or more for trolling?
*** 2.25 ounces... Very castable. I believe in that youtube clip it shows a scene of it being cast and bit. |

It has two connection points. Main line and a leader line. We are working on various accessories right now but it shouldn't be tough to set up on a rigger |

**** Not sure how technical you would want to get but we had a computer on the boat... last week we were trolling for Striped Bass on and came across a big school. Trolled through them 5 times with no bites. Reviewed the footage on the water to find that we were putting in time on a large school of catfish.
The same day we came across another school. Couldn't get them to bite. Reviewed footage and confirmed that they were the right ones. Changed our approach / angles and proceeded to put a hurtin on em.
This is a very good tool that will open your eye's up to things that you don't know about. It has already changed my fishing for the better. |

Part of its design is to be able to cast it so it can take some abuse. I was banging it into multiple points, rockpiles, etc.... Got it snagged up a couple times and retrieved it without problem. No signs of damage in any way to the outer casing nor the internal mechanics. |

Location: Ontario, California | Here's some footage of some east coast Fluke and Sea Robins as well as the Catfish school that I mentioned earlier and a Striper coming in for the kill (also mentioned) when we changed our angle on them. Without the camera, we wouldn't have caught the fish that we did on that point. This camera is going to change the way you think and make you a more successful fisherman. The Catfish and Striper pics.... this was in less than optimal conditions with a severe algae bloom. These images were taken from 40 - 52 feet of water.

If you troll for 8 hours for example, you may have one or two sections a few seconds long where you can see a fish approaching/attacking. Is there a way to quickly look through and find these areas?

You can use up to a 32 gig mini SD card..... anything higher is not compatible. A 16 gig card will give you 4-4.5 hours of recording time.
Water temp predicates battery life.
2-3 hours at 32 degree water
4 hours from 60-70 degree water
up to 5 hours in 70+ degree water.
Batteries are recharged through a mini USB cable with either your computer or wall charger.

We have been compiling footage that we are editing right now... you can see what different baits are being used with it. With anything you jerk the rod with.... the camera will jump around more than a bait you straight crank. |

Jed.... the cameras will record as long as the battery is capable of recording or as long as the memory card has space. The advantage to our camera is is records in 20 minute segments with a 4 second overlap. This means is at minute 19:45 you get bit and land the fish a minute later.... you can splice the two segments together. This enable you to edit in a more friendly manner. But if you are like me.... you will be going through all the footage to see all the fish you never knew about. |
