Location: Grand Marais, MN | Hey guys,
Anyone have any advice for fishing near Duluth?
Any species really, Probably not muskies or anything on superior since I won't be using a boat, got a week off a school for the forth so I'm spending the week with my brother who is new in town and will be working during the day. Any advice on river/ lake access from shore would be appreciated

Location: Duluth, MN | Dont rule out the big lake. Super late spring up here this year and a lot of fish are still close to shore, Lakers, and Cohos. Just casting spoons in front of the river mouths can be pretty good. Also most likely still a few Steelhead in the northern rivers. I know a buddy got a few steelies out of the lester early last week.
Might still be some walleyes stacked up below the spillways on Island and fish.

| Lots of good lakes up there. I spent two summers (summer classes) chasing walleyes, muskies, and SMB on Island. The dam is really good, especially in the evening with the light. Walleyes come right up by shore.
You could rent a canoe for cheap from UMD's rec center and take it up to Dumbell or Crescent if you want some muskie action. Those are solid action lakes (Shoepack Muskie strain) |

| I also recommend the #*^@ out at Island Lake. Fished there a few times, always managed to catch a variety of fish. Plus you can bring a chair and hang out right by the water so it makes for a good time |
