| Looking to upgrade...currently using Shimano Compre 8'6".
This is a dedicated bucktail / spinnerbait rod...mepps maribou, rad dogs, vibrax etc...misc crank and top raider or equivilant...will be paired with a REVO.
I already have jerkbait and a dawg / 10's setups so no need to be able to throw.
Want to stay between 8'6 and 9'6. Price is no object.
Thoughts?

Location: South-Central PA | Like the other guys said, the Long Ranger would be a good choice. My personal preference would be the Sling Blade, it will throw all of those baits very well and give you more power. The Sling Blade actually has a smaller tip (7/64ths vs. 7.5/64ths for the Long Ranger) which allows it to be very veratile and throw smaller baits.
If you have money and want to spend it, get a custom done.

| so thoughts on a Legend Tournament vs. a Custom. Benefits? Custom is roughly $50-100 more.
I like the handle length on the LT rods so primary benefit would be an exact length if desired and guide upgrades (SIC or Ti) vs. Alconite on LT. Im not into any of the fancy cosmetics.
So how i have gatherd the actions are from soft to hard...
1. Long Ranger - MH
2. TB Predator - H
3. Slingblade - H
I'd like to get as long as possible if i went custom up to 9'3 but that will still balance nicely with revo. |

Location: Planet Meltdown | IMO a Tackle Industry MH 9' rod loads up perfect for throwing blades smaller than DCG's. I have a Slingblade and love it for DCG and bigger Spinnerbaits but it doesn't handle the smaller stuff as good as my TI MH. I also throw straight retrieve top waters with my TI and it handles them very well. |

Location: Minnesota | Your my kind of guy. Buy a custom rod there are some great builders out there. It's all where you live. I live in Minnesota so when i need a new rod i go to thorn bros tell Lonnie what i want the rod to do and he builds the rod i wanted. I really like the predator blank i have the heavy, X heavy, and a XX heavy put a Tranx on it and you will have a great rod you won't want to put down. Good luck deciding that's the hardest part |

| If money is no object go custom. Be in the shop with the builder and take off length 1" at a time from the tip of the blank until you get the exact feel that you want. |

Location: Lincoln, NE | Look at the Custom X 8'10" H. My sister has one w/ a Revo NACL 50 on it and every time I grab it I love it. I have a Revo NACL 60 on a Big Nasty and I think I'd like her rod better for everything except for the fact that I throw pounders a lot. I don't really throw twin tens but for 8's, single blade bucks, crankbaits, topwater, etc. I think I like it better. It's better balanced where my Nasty feels tip heavy. I haven't used a Sling Blade but I'm guessing that this rod is more like a slightly longer Sling Blade than it is a Big Nasty. I think it would fit into your arsenal perfect. |
