I have two Shimano Calcutta 400's (old, not the 400B or D, the 400...) with drags that stopped working. No matter the setting on the drag the line pulls out the same and too easy to fish with. Any advice of what to look for when I open them up? Parts to replace or things to be extra careful with?

Stock Shimano Drag Washers only last a year or 2 so your reels are around 12 years and older, so the Drag washers are trash, just replace them with a set of Carbontex Drag Washers from Smooth Drags appox $14.00 and your drag will be better then new.
I would also replace the metal drag washers that are on the drive shaft also, get them from SHIMANO.

I think I found the parts, correct me if I am wrong but it looks like #'s 2061, 2062 and 2063. I found a company called "Cast Away Tackle Shop and you were spot on with shipping at that price... Hopefully they are a good company to go through.

Anything you would advise or I should be aware of when I replace these?
Thanks PIKEMASTER for helping, I know by helping me you are losing a potential job but I assure you the next time I have something I cannot do myself I will be sending it your way!

Those numbers are for the original Shimano drag washers - so yes if they are offering the replacement smooth drag washers for those part numbers that is correct.

NO order the Carbontex kit from Cast Away
and then from Shimano order BNT 1455 2pcs and BNT 1613 2 of them, then replace the old ones that are on the drive shaft, they will look like this ()() install a thick washer first then a thin washer.
