Location: Gananoque Ontario | Looking to power a Lund 2075 Tyee with a Yamaha 250 or a Mecury Verado Pro 250. Which motor would give me the best performance? Any drawback to either of these motors?

Location: Athens, Ohio | Just bought same boat with the 250 verado. Very pleased thus far. Incredibly quiet motor!! Top speed 51-52 mph with family and most of my gear. I fished out of a ranger 621 last week...... I missed my Lund. Seems like it's gonna be a great boat to fill the bill of family and fishing.

Location: Minnesota | I would say either way you go you will have a great motor. I have a Yamaha F150 great motor no problems I guess if I was going to buy a new one I would Look at who had the longest warranty. If they were the same in price warranty i would go with the Yamaha just because I've never had a problem since i have been running them. Like i said you will have a great motor either way you go. | Reed, I have Yamahas and have NEVER had one problem with them. I never owned a Merc. ( Dad didn't like them ) I will only buy Yamahas due to the performance and trouble free service. |

Location: Athens, Ohio | Reed, FWIW..... the musky guide I fished with recently, said he's used them all and by far the best of the bunch was Yamaha. Most reliable hands down. And that comes from a guy who fishes most days a week, 9 months a year. |

Location: Garrison, Mn | I have a mercury, but went to the Dominican Republic this past winter. Every boat there runs a Yamaha, I can guarantee you there's no PM done to the motors or anything for that matter. They use them hard, never hose them off, when it's time to take the boat out, they drive full speed at the shore and run the boat a ground......till the next day. After seeing every boat there in the salt running Yamaha's and how they beat the crap out of them I made my mine up that is all I will ever own going forward. |

Location: SE WISCONSIN | My buddy has a 2075 pro v with a 300 verado the boat runs low 60s it's a 2011 no problems to date.I just bought my first mercury just a little 150 4 stroke but I'm happy so far and hope I stay happy. |

Location: Metro, MN | Yamaha for reliability, Verado for a little more speed/holeshot. I own a 2002 Yamaha and it runs like DAY 1 with zero issues ever. |

| Is that Merc--made in the USA ? I think they are--and that says it all for me---But I am an AMERICAN from a military family--I know some don't care but I do. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, and support our military and working families whenever I can. |

Mercury builds a superb 4 stoke in the Verado, and a killer little 150 4 stroke. Yamaha builds a great motor too. The 'superiority' of one or the other as to severe use and issues is almost identical from what we see covering the Bassmaster, FLW Tour, National Walleye Tour, and other major tournaments over the last decade. Base your choice on the particular HP engine you want to buy, local service and service where you fish, and price if that's a deal breaker for you. |
