Posts: 151 Location: Chippewa Falls, WI | Quick question...I currently throw a tranx HG on a 9' TI rod for big plastics and I'm actually considering selling it a going to something different. I throw a winch and nacl HS for big blades and with the power handle I prefer the nacl for burning blades. What reel do you guys prefer for line pick up and comfort other than an HG? I just don't see using my HG for anything other than big plastics at this point and I don't really throw them that often to justify the reel... Thanks, Adubs

Posts: 2097 | LJV handle on the hg does wonders. Obviously your slow rolling 10's on your winch. Burning large blades with your HS is very tiring. I throw blades, big plastics, big cranks with my hg.

Posts: 151 Location: Chippewa Falls, WI | yeah I don't even throw the winch for blades anymore. mainly use it for slow topwater baits like hawgwobblers and creepers. I really like my new NACL and prefer it for blades of all sizes compared to the HG. I spent a couple hours casting in my pond and it was noticebly easier on my hands and wrist casting and reeling the NACL over the HG. I haven't used a PG for blades and have heard good things but I was thinking I could sell my hardly used HG and buy something else to use for plastics and use the extra $$ to buy some more big plastics...I bought the HG for a great price new at the MN expo last year and would sell it for what I paid for it, so nothing lost there either

Posts: 1283 | I dont normally throw pounders, but it seems most big plastics come in easy on even a 6.4 NACL with the power handle. The 5.4 NACL is even easier.

Posts: 427 Location: Planet Meltdown | If you like the NACL so much sell you HG and buy a 6.4 NACL if you're a righty. Spool it with 100lb braid call it a day and buy some more rubber with your extra $$

Posts: 2089 | Sidejack, Let me know if you ever have an interest in selling that Bantam. That reel was a gift from my parents for my 8th grade graduation in 1982. Wishin I still had it but wouldn't be fishin it.
