Random quote: Muskies are nasty. They stink. They taste bad. They are hard to catch and will disappoint even the most devoted angler. The lures required cost more than some women's jewelry. The rods and reels require a remortgage of the house. The boat is always worth more than the tow vehicle. Sure beats the hell out of golf.

I worked on this Early Season Special  version of Classy Babies  for quite a while trying to build smaller but durable spinnerbait  to sustain brutal power of muskie and big pike for the time when downsizing is in order (spring /early summer, cold fronts, etc)

Well, here what I came up with :

                                                 “Hardware”

3/4oz minnow head,  .051 wire

7/0 extra heavy Mustad long shank hook

5/0 Eagle Claw Trailer Hook

100 strands  Starflash reversed tied with combination of Saltwater flash skirt

Blades :

Tandem Colorado  #3 & 5 – very comfortable to fish those shallow bays working  slow over any type of structure.

Colorado #3 and Willow # 5 combination – great for burning when the fish is in a more aggressive mood

Quality Ball Bearings with solid rings

Trailer grub: Proven Mister Twister Curly Tail grub 6”

Below are few sample pictures:

Lemon Head

Amber Red

Baby Blue

Black Orange Tiger

More to come

Comments, patterns suggestion are always welcomed.

Looks good Archie! Could you post a pic with the spring bait next to your standard Classy? Looks like I'll need a bigger boat!
