Original size in particular. Big enough or switch them out?

My guess would be that Jon Bondy has boated more muskies than any ten of us put together. If that's the case, I'd trust him to have it right.

I do not have a bondy nor have I seen one in person. But since the action of the bait is the user picking it up and gravity pulling it down I would say if you felt like putting on bigger hook go for it. It isn't like the extra weight will screw up the action.

The original Bondy comes with 4/0 VMC hooks on it & I’ve never had a reason to change them out for anything different. You can put an extra hook on top to improve hook-ups if you like. Cut the welded hook off a 4/0 treble, remove the split ring on the hook tie, place the hook over the wire, then put the split ring back on.

Not quite Yooper...haha. Just a blind squirrel looking for a 60", which I believe will come from the depths in my area...as for the hooks, I put VMC 4/0 9650BZ's on the 7oz original and 5/0 on the wobbler and 11oz magnum. If you are looking for more solid hook ups, try taking a treble of the same size and remove the top split ring, slide the extra treble on the line tie, while burying one of the points in the baits back, and then put the split ring back on to pin it down. Seems to help sometimes with my clients. Thanks for buying the baits, Jon

Nice picture john. That will get the juices flowing a little. I have watched your
u-tube vids. & plan on picking up a couple of your Bondy Baits this year to try
and add to the arsenal.

I'm a 7/0 guy! I hate small hooks (less than 5/0 they seem to be harder to get out of the fish.
Is that a problem changing them out? I just ordered a bunch from you today. By the way, did you catch that fish that was looking at it? (NICE PIC)

I'll second the video of the Wobbler request. Looked last night and couldn't find anything. Also, I just bought a Magnum Bondy, a Wobbler, and a St. Clair Grub......should arrive today. Is there any scenario where they prefer one over the other or where you use one in particular instead of the other for some reason other than vibration? I'm mainly talking between the Magnum Bondy and the Wobbler.

Thanks all. That pic was a 55" just released and about 2 seconds from swimming off. As for the Wobbler, we just use it when we jig Bondy's. Last fall it beat the original Bondy every single time we tried it. Not sure if I should be happy or scared about that. We will have some underwater video in a week or two!! Watch for our coming banner ad!!

I put one of the factory hooks up top as pictured, and replace the lowers with 5/0 6x strong hooks from VMC. After having 4 out of 6 hook points straighten out once, I decided that wouldn't happen again. That's not a knock on Bondy though, as my jigging scenario is different than most, as is my setup.

I replace the front hook to a owner st-36 3/0 and it helped a lot. (even thought it's a 3/0 its bigger then some of the 5/0 from other brands)

Also don't use to stiff a rod, imo helps a lot on hooking percentage.
