I'm about to mount a new swivl eze 2" wedge baseplate in my rig. I don't want to remove the floor to do so, so the question I have is whether I should use togglers or t-nuts on the bottom side to secure the mounting bolts? Not worried about cost, more about durability and longevity. Thanks

The toggle/wing nuts used would work fine, although if you have to remove the base for some reason, you will lose them on the bottom. This would be the best method if you don't remove the floor seat bases installed from factory usually have an aluminum base to them so the machine screws don't pull out like they can from wood.

The one issue you may find, though is that your through-hole will have to be bigger to get them to pass through, which means the base might be able to twist a touch once installed.

Yeah,
Once it's in, it's in for good. The bases don't include any hardware and I can't find any info on it that's why I'm asking. I guess it's up to us to come up with the hardware of our choice. Even though I don't want to I think I might just go ahead and remove the floor to make sure it's on there right. Stinks, but I could think of worse.

How hard is the floor to remove on your boat? If not too difficult, I would remove it, and get a 1/4" aluminum plate and attach that to the bottom side of the floor with some #8 ss screws. Then use #12? sheet metal metal screws, stainless steel, of course, to attache the base to the floor. Predrill the aluminum plate for the correct size of the screw you are using.

Exactly as Shep said, plus use 3M 4200 on the threads.

Make sure you get 4200 and not 5200 in the slight chance you may want to back them out some day.
