How do us go about adjusting the brakes on the NaCl? I can't figure out how to take the side plate off. Do I need to take the side off with the handle? Haven't had to do that on any of my newer reels. I looked at the diagram and not sure I can even get the spool out if I do that. Owners manual is no help either. Anyone?

This is really simple. Just loosen the thumbscrew along the top of the reel on the handle side. Then while placing your thumb on the spool twist the opposite side plate (non handle side) counter clockwise. This will expose the centrifugal brake.

ABU gives a real nice owner's manual with the reel, if U have lost it go on line to the ABU Site and U can down load one.

Pikemaster I just got a generic "Ambassadeur" owner's manual. Not sure why, but I'll get the one for the NaCl online. Thanks.

I just got my NaCl last week. The booklet was generic as well.

Thanks Mike and everyone else for the feedback. Got the manual and I'm good to go. For the record, this reel feels solid. I put the power handle on it and can't wait to burn some small bucktails and cranks with it.
