For those in need of trolling rods, Cabela's has their Depthmaster Gold rods on sale at $25 - $35, with free shipping when you use code 44BASS

These are the same rods we use on the Great Lakes when trolling for salmon and lake trout and will have no problem handling Mrs. Esox. Go with the 8.5' planer board model, or the 9" dipsey diver rod.

I noticed those too. Would the 8.5' Planer board rod handle pulling boards with bigger baits like 14" Jakes, 12" Custom X, etc?
I like the 8'H Shimano TDR's but they are hard to find.

I just bought 4, 9'6" diawa accudepth heavy action dipsey rods for 30 apiece at an eBay store. These look like good deals too.
