Reefer … what is the story with paper making in Finland? they are some of the leaders? no? anyway, are they losing their industry too, or is it still strong there. I'm in the Plastics Industry but seem to remember that the Fins were aggressive in buying up Paper Mills in the U.S.. I would imagine that Finland would have as strict or maybe more strict environmental regulations than we do? Curious …

One of the Finnish companies(Stora Enso) owned a huge share of the coated poaper industry in the U.S. for a number of years before they ultimately pulled out because of difficulty doing the business here that they expected. They're still heavy players in the specialty coated paper industry, and Europe is largely paper self sufficient in that regard. They are largely non union run, which they unfortunately were unsuccessful in transitioning to here.

This may have been done before, but seems appropriate:

I loved it.
btw - Lake Erie is opening up. Still a ton of ice along shore, but we're getting there!

Still find it odd that man has impacted every aspect of the environment but not the climate.

why are there no posts a out global warming when it's 100 out?

Because then it is just a heat wave.

Ya gotta love everytime it gets cold and people make wise cracks at global warming. I'm pretty sure when a majority of the science community agree on a subject they have some good evidence to back it.

Evidence?? You mean the evidence that was put into a computer generated model that was made by scientists and data entry was done by scientists that recieved money from companies and gov'ts that had a monetary gain on their agenda? Do you mean that evidence?

If everyone (people, companies and the gov't) in the US stopped burning fossil fuels tomorrow (including gas, oil, coal, etc etc), in 50 yrs we will have reduced our greenhouse gas emissions a quarter of a percent.

Three days of rain, after high winds stacked a lot of ice, then 70 degree weather for next weekend, Lake Erie Ice Boom might get removed before May yet!
