So what's the deal with this new curado that's just "unveiled"? I suppose no one has used it, but maybe someone has some insight about its capabilities. Looks affordable too.

I"ve only seen a 200 series model, nothing released about a 300 series, there's some talk on bass sites like bass boat central from guys that have used them.

Also saw that Gander is selling off the Curado "G" series for $89.99 after a $70.00 Gander Mountain rebate and I think Bass Pro has them on sale for $99.00 as part of the Spring Classic sale starting today. These also look like only 200 size reels and I assume must be the "old" version.

I have never fished one, but they felt kind of cheap to me compared to the older models. The "G" is the newest one. I would look for a older D which Is aluminum or an "E" model. I believe that those are better built than the new G model. I noticed that The D and E prices went up on eBay when the newer G came out.

The reel Kirby asked about is the new "I" series unveiled last weeks BassMaster Classic. http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/pro...

As of now, they only come in the 200 series, you could use it for small bucks and cranks, but it's a "bass" reel.

The main gear looks massive on that reel.

Here's the specs. could really use a 300 or 400 size. havent updated the 300 size since the E series, which is a great reel.
