I was able to get out and do a little wading today. While not musky these little critters are a good time. 3 caught,1 lost, and 1 follow. It felt good to be fishing in soft water!

It`s not a snot rocket. It`s a chain pickerel.

Yep, commonly known as a snot rocket in my area due to the slime layer and how fast they are.

Fish are nicknamed differently in different areas. No worries.

It's a chain pickerel. We dont have northern pike in SW Missouri. They are not slimy like a pike. But they have attitude like a musky though !!

I don`t mind them. They are spunkier than pike and fun on Bass gear. You don`t get so many that they get on your nerves like hammer handle pike. Super cool on a flyrod.
