Have had a few people asking for lures, how do you guys generally go about shipping your baits? I have never sold anything online before, all money through paypal im guessing? Anything to look out for? Im in Ontario, shipping within the province and across the border. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Yes paypal. Shipping regular mail.
Canadapost.ca will give you quotes to the US destinations.

Pack up baits in small cardboard, or use padded envelopes. Protect your hooks if in an envelope.

Always ship lures in a box. I wrap in News paper three to 4 times around. then pack tight in a box that is just slightly bigger then the bait. This will insure the lure does not fly around inside the box and come unwrapped. The smaller the package the less the shipping. Shipping cost can be a turn off to many buyers so try and keep it as low as possible. I have been shipping baits for 15 years now. Tape them up good, wrap the corners and ends with good packing tape. Make sure your labels are protected as well. Pay Pal is safe and instant. You never know about checks or money orders as these can be forged. Good luck. Mike

I always cut one inch sections of plastic worms and stick them over the hook points. They protect everything and are easy to remove on the other end. NOTHING worse than a July /August bait shipped with duck tape or electrical tape over the hooks!

That is the truth getting baits with duct or gorilla tape on them. It makes ya wonder what they were thinking.

Box them up make sure they don't bounce around you can bag them or use paper and if the box is very tall just cut it down by slicing the corners and then fold over the edges as some times that extra .5-2" can save you a lot on shipping. get the Canada post app it will help you get a shipping price fast.

I received a 8" crankbait that was shipped in a padded envelope. No protection on the hooks. I picked the envelope up and got a hook right in the finger. Surprised it even made it to the house.

It is cheaper if you find your own small box to ship them in. I also use newspaper or try and save bubble wrap and other good shipping materials that i can reuse again. One thing to remember about shipping any rubber baits like bulldogs with newspaper is the ink will transer on to the baits. I made a trade with a guy for some of my bucktails for a couple dogs and i could read the newspaper article on the bulldogs, it doesnt come right off with just water either.
