| Does anyone know where I can see a picture of the new Beckman Finsaver nets? Have they changed the style of the hoop, or is it simply a re-designed bag?
I had a fish rip a hole in my Beckman Pro-Musky net a couple of weeks back, so I was thinking of either getting the new Finsaver net or if possible using one of the Finsaver bags on my existing hoop.
Thanks...

| Greg B,
Try www.beckmannet.com
I''ve been using one of the new Fin Saver Pen nets from Beckman and it is the most "Musky Friendly" landing device I''ve ever seen! No split fins and plenty of room for the fish to swim around in the net.

| The hoop is the exactly the same as a Musky Magnum. The net has thicker and smaller holes on the side, with a square bottom with regular mesh. The bag is shallower. The Fin Saver Pen net is noticably heavier than the Musky Magnum.
BUT, as Dave said - an excellent choice! First class in my book.

| Does Rollies have them in stock? |

| How much do they run??? Are they pretty comparable to the Magnums??
I think I paid about 70 for mine but that was about 8 years ago.
Thanks

| I second that Dave, it is the most muskie friendly landing device I have ever used.
I havent had a split fin or an unhappy muskie all year..[] |

| The Beckman website doesn't have any photos of the new nets yet. I think I'll end up getting one of the new nets since the hoop size of the Pro Musky is a little smaller than the Magnums.
Thanks guys...

| I've had a chance to use a Magnum Fin Saver Pen since before they were introduced to the public. I have put just over 80 muskies in it--including 3 over 50" up to 51-1/2"--and have not had one fish harmed in any way. Have only had one fish wrap up in the mesh. Not bad considering 1 in 3 fish wrapped up in my old net. As the name implies, it is a pen to hold the fish in over the side of the boat. We've had 40" fish swimming in circles inside the pen. There are 3 sizes--Pro, Mag, and Mag XD, and they go for approximately $110, $115, and $120 respectively.
Hope this helps,
Brett |
