This year will be the year of the crankbait for me...Believers included. To keep them from constantly landing on their backs (and then being a pain in the @ss to get to flip over) on the cast, I used to put bell sinkers on them. In my old(er) age, I've forgotten the size I used to use...

Suggestions?

Andrew try this. 1/2 oz bell sinker on the tail of a straight model. Try twitching it. Changes the dive curve bait stays up, erratic and you can hear it clank on the first twitch on a.long cast. On the belly works too but not as shallow or erratic.
