I'm going to put an 1100 series unit upfront on my rig this spring and connect it to my 998hd that I had installed last year on the console. I was told that I could buy the 1158/1159 and connect it to the 998 and it would show the DI/SI that my 998 has since they would be connected. In all honesty I'm not sure I would use the SI feature while up on the front deck but I wouldn't mind having the option. I just don't feel the need to spend the extra $ to have it.. I want the larger screen for being able to read the map easily while standing up and not having to be so close to it but if I could link the two units and get DI/SI I certainly would! For the guys running with the 1100's up front which ones do you have and how do you like them? How do they work while linked with the graph on the console? I currently have an hds 5 gen 2 upfront so it will be a significant upgrade either way

I`m not sure about the 1158 being able to read the SI. Someone else can help you with that. But for on the bow I`m also getting rid of my SI. I fish way to slow for the SI to work on the bow. Going to be switching my units around before I fish. I`m going to a 958DI on the bow. On the console I`ll run the SI. I feel you need to be moving around 3 mph for the SI to work good.

I have a pair of the 1198 si I will use the si up front it dose work better at 2.5 plus . I can still see rocks of to the side and mark them and come back and fish them. the graphs cant share the map chips I have every thing linked together birds and trolling motor best thing I did works great set depth speed after that I just cast .
