Hey all,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this picture, but this is my Daughter's first muskie, caught last summer on Little Arbor Vitae lake in Vilas county Wisconsin.
34" 10lb (Est) on a Sunset Buchertail with red grub trailer. She got it boatside and it hit from under the boat as she went into her figure 8.

Beat my first muskie by 2"...

Couldn't be more proud. She set her goal to catch one by the time she was 13 (same age as my first) and did it.

Awesome Job congrats on still getting her into the boat. My daughter will be 14 in a month and she still gets out with me but not as much as she did when she was 8-11 years old.

Nice job to both of you. That's some quality time right there. My thirteen year
old son is my fishing partner and it's hard to beat, priceless. Don't skimp on the
sun tan lotion next time. LOL.

My 11 year old son is champing at the bit to get his... Still needs a little work on the casting technique tho...

Good tip about the sunscreen.. She kept telling me she didn't need it... Wrong!

The guy holding the fish is not me BTW, that's Rob Manthei, a great Muskie guide from the area. My daughter's requested reward for keeping Straight "A"s in school was a guided muskie trip.. Well worth the $$ IMO

Really cool. As a Dad with 2 girls, both under 4 still, it's awesome to see this. Congrats to you and your daughter.

The first fish is very special as each of us on this board can remember it like it was yesterday and we never forget it. Unlike our wives birthdays and anniversaries. She will always remember this trip and it will always have her father in it also. That is very cool.

Congratulations, pretty fish, I absolutely can't wait til my 9 year old son gets his 1st, he's been in the boat when I've caught a few, but for us musky guys, our child's 1st is just like our 1st if not better, can't wait, great job!!!!!

Congrats, great job! Those are the bonds and memories that time can't take away from either of you. Pretty fish! Is she now targeting your PB?

Have fun!

Way cool...congrats to both of you!

Still waiting for my "step"-grandson to get his first. He's about to turn 11. He's a bass fishing champ, loves to hunt (having shot 3 deer in two consecutive seasons, and he shot his second turkey this past year), but still gets a little frustrated chucking muskie baits all day long. As soon as it happens I know he'll be hooked forever.

Funny thing...for now (like many on here) he's distracted by filling his tackle box with baits! LOL

Very cool, My little girl learned last summer how to use a baitcaster with a topwater. She is 11 and was bugging me tonite about goin' fishing. Tightlines and goodtimes.

Thanks for all the great words guys!

Really appreciated the folks at the Vilas County Muskie Marathon too, they made the experience even more of a big deal with the whole contest thing. She came in 8th overall in the 15 and under category but it was still a big thrill.

Catch and release of course and working with Lax taxidermy to have a replica made.

Her goal now is a 50"+ and with this kid's determination, I am scared....

Makes Christmas and Birthday shopping easy though...
