Been thinking and wanting to get a new I pilot for a while now. I know I want the terrova. I currently run a 12volt 55 lb power drive 45in shaft. My questions are, should I go to a 60in shaft or stay with the 45. My thoughts are that hopefuly some day I will get a new boat and be able to transfer the motor but will the 60 in be too long? I also run 2 batteries in parallel so I could step up to an 80lb model. Most of the time the 12v does just fine. What are your thoughts. Thanks John

what size boat do you have ? I have a 18 foot boat and have the 60in 80lb motor. I have been out on the lake when the motor still comes out of the water. it comes down to boat size and the lakes you fish. if the motor you have works for you the 45in would work if you plan on getting a bigger boat and keeping the motor get the 60 in 80 lb .when I bought my boat in 2012 I wanted all new .

I would definitely go with the 60" shaft. I had one on 16ft Lund and it worked great. You can always raise a longer shaft up but can't make a short one longer. Also great choice on the Terrova I-Pilot...You will love it!!

I gave my Dad my old 60" Terrova and he's got it on his Lund 1660 ProV. Watch the angle so the head doesn't hang over the gunwale too much while stowed and you'll be fine.
