Wow I thought there would be a little more outrage than that after my last post.....especially after just reading the post about how you shouldn't take a step while holding a fish LOLOLOL! I would be in favor of the moderators of this forum deleting entire threads when the bickering starts to get out of hand.

Good point on the stressed fish. I am going to check around and find out if the lakes I fish rely on stocking or natural reproduction. Another point too that I'm not sure anyone has mentioned is that it's much more common to catch males during the spawn. If you watch both of the Keye's Mille Lacs episodes, I think they boat 6 or 7 fish.....all males. The big one they lost in the small stream was a female, but the others were males. I caught 6 this past yr during the spawn...alll males.

I think WI has it figured out in the southern zone....walleye, pike, muskie, and bass all open on May 3rd.

But in the northern zone...walleye, largemouth, smallie (catch/release only) and pike open May 3rd, while muskie opens May 24th
