ya don't fish Monument bay Ive only caught about three dozen out of that bay, caught some biggies 48"+ and have seen some absolute giants.... but since they weren't there last year I'm sure they wont be there next year as well.... Monument has some killer spots! Spots I can almost guarantee a fish....What is Monument bay like 8,000 acres? No muskie in there  | |||

| just depends, its right off main track and Frolanders is tucked in the back.. so at times it can get "busy" for lake of the woods...Ive seen times when there are 7 or 8 muskie boats in there, its good water all around there though, going east to bishop's bay is good as well, there is often a lot of traffic there and in big narrows too ...by that I mean you may see another boat 1/2 mile away | |||

| VMS - You wont get away from seeing a muskie boat mid-July in the angle for very long..if a guy fishing a mile away from you bothers you.. the angle is not a good spot ... its such a big lake with so many great spots, my advice for mid July is to look at a map for main lake rock points, rock complexes, areas where island are close to each other, markers on main track that show rock reefs... the are 100's of these types of spots, make a plan before you leave the dock, pick 10-15 spots that look good on the map for a milk run, if there is a boat move to the next spot...then don't be afraid to re-fish areas you see or catch fish.. IMO running and gunning can lead to trouble on the angle, especially if you are new to the area....you must fish spots thoroughly, some bigger complexes take me 2 hrs to fish, and by the time I get around them I may just re-fish Fish will definitely "pack" up that time of year. fishing too slow is better than fishing too fast - IMO Especially for big fish. Gotta plan which ways will be best for me to go... just north of Windigo is certainly a popular area...but probably for good reason. I personally wouldn't even consider going all the way into the Big Narrows, you will be passing up just a ton of fish and countless great spots that you should be learning. Since it sounds like you really want to head North, look no further then Bishops Bay and listen to Justin's advice on what to look for. If you see a boat on a spot then there's probably a good reason why...remember it and go back also heard that instead of going North you also have thousands of acres to the East to choose from where you will tend to run into less people....but there's no fish out that way so I would never suggest such things | ||

| Two of the biggest fish I've ever seen on LOTW: 1) A point on Flag Island 2) a point on Oak island......I'll be the first to admit though, I feel like I have to drive 15 miles away to start the day .......have caught some very nice fish right around flag and oak though (where i most commonly stay) | |||

Location: Contrarian Island | I think feeling like you have to drive far from the cabin or where you are staying is inherent in musky fisherman, look at when you fish lakes on your home waters or on the lake your cabins are on, what do we do, ? put our boat in and then feel the need to run to the other side of the lake! some of the best spots are right by the boat landings, and by the resorts... !  | ||
