Posts: 248 Location: Xenia, Ohio | Well here is how I do it right wrong or indifferent, I find myself an image on Google image let’s say a Trout, try and find a picture large enough to cover your bait so you don’t have to reduce it or blow it up to much, I save the picture to my desktop or where you want then I open the saved picture with (Paint) resize to fit the lure, then I copy the image flip and rotate it so I have both right and left on the same page, run you test sample first to make sure it’s the size you want, then run to Wal-Mart and buy a bag of tissue paper, glue stick and spay adhesive in a can, oh and copy paper for the print I use 11x17 copy paper, now here is what you do, lay your 11x17 copy paper on flat surface grab a piece of tissue paper alien up just on one of the corners smooth out the tissue paper real nice, (that’s the trick to nice image), lift your tissue paper up on one side only apply glue stick to edge only about ¼ of inch inn and smooth out with your hand repeat for the other edges, now just put your copy paper in the printer with your tissue paper glued to it and select your image and print, now lay your lure on top of the tissue paper trace around your lure leave good 3/8 over hang cut your image out with pair of scissors , now prime your bait white, let it dry, take your spray adhesive and spray one side of your bait let it get tacky and alien your tissue paper image and smooth out, repeat on other side, airbrush your top and bottom apply a netting add your eyes and airbrush highlights apply your environmental light epoxy I also use a heat gun on my environmental light epoxy while it’s on the rotisserie, it sounds hard but it’s real easy , hope this helps.

Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | I love the look of these as well...They are "REAL" fish images. Something to be said for a different process of applying a pattern to a fishing lure that's for sure! IMHO, lures which are hand airbrushed and lures which have decals of images applied; Should clearly be set apart....Its kinda like the difference between trolling and casting....We are all trying to achieve the same outcome, catching muskies! And in this case the outcome is creating a lure which entices muskies to hit OR something for viewing pleasure! However, as an artist and craftsman myself, I truly feel that in any case where these lures are all showcased together for viewing or in any sort of competition; they should certainly be categorized differently and separately so that they get the true respect and admirations that they all deserve. Just my thoughts. Edited by ShutUpNFish 1/10/2014 7:25 AM
