Location: Grand Marais, MN | question for any of you northern wi guys out there. I was cleaning out my granddad's army stuff from korea, and found a hundred of pictures his dad sent him from a trip in '53 at lynx lake lodge and shore lunches on van vliet lake. Picture a bunch of old chicago guys fishing in black suits and wearing elmer fudd hats believe it or not, haha. how times have changed.
anyway, wondering if you guys know anything about these lakes, or have been to these places, I'd like to go up there some day and see these places and of course maybe sling a few lures while im at it.

Location: Wisconsin | Don't know about the lakes, but if you had a pic you did not mind sharing it would be cool to see!
Just love the visual of the Elmer Fudd hat!!That is a pretty cool find! |

Location: Savage, MN | I to think any old pictures that you would be willing to share would be neat. I just finished reading Time On The Water in which they reference those lakes a lot.

Location: Mayville, WI | Lynx is a nice scenic lake, fishing not so much. Pretty infertile, not much for vegetation, but clear water. Heard Zastrow's Lynx Lake resort is a decent place to stay for families, never been there though.
Van Vliet is about the opposite of lynx fertility wise - tons of vegetation and fairly clear water. Good panfish and there is a guide who lives there that offers a shore lunch option for his ice fishing trips. There's a decent resort on here too.
PM me if you'd like more info.
