| Where the heck do you guys store all these 8'+ rods?
I have my "man room" and want to add some rod storage/display to it. Problem is I have a few(too many) 7'-8' rods so with 8ft ceilings nothing will work vertically, which I think looks and works the best for easy access. I dont even have anything taller than 8' so wondering how you guys do it? More pics and Ideas the better!

Location: Grand Marais, MN | have you thought of hanging rod racks from the ceiling? I seen this on some cabins of salmon boats as they have really long rods too. its a great way to keep them out of the way and looks really cool if you ask me. you'd need drywall ceiling for this. that way you could get some 9 footers in there no problem if you wanted to.

Location: Middletown, Ohio | I don't have my rods in my "man cave",l keep them in the basement near my paint room, but I use pieces of PVC pipe around 18"-20" long, screwed to the floor joists and slide the handles of the rods into the pipe.

| Since Muskie fishing is such a cheap hobby, I think you owl have to build an addition for your rods. I was originally thinking 10' ceiling but with the way things are progressing, I would go at least 12' to accommodate those 9'-6" rods and longer in the future....haha!
Our house had 6' ceilings when we bought it (OLD farmhouse) and I was able to raise them up to about 7'-8'. Right now I just lay them diagonal which is probably not the best but I would like to make a nice rack to put them on the wall horizontally, either way it's always hazardous for my rod tip transporting in and out of the house. |

| Horizontal Wall mounted rod Holders. Cabellas has nice wood ones. They ook like this. I actually have 2 more of these now under the second pic.... so i have a ridiculous "Wall O' Musky Rods"..I took these pics a couple years back when I moved into my current residenmce..

Location: Walker, MN | I went horizontal myself. I used two 1"x 3"s, cut holes in one for the butts and smaller holes with slots cut to them in the other. If you use 8' pieces you could hang up to 20 rods on one 10' wall.

| Ceiling or wall mount, Hmmm... tough decision. Those Cabelas mounts look good and on sale at 9.99ea. |

Location: Lake County Illinois | Ive had mine mounted on the ceiling for years with the cheaper Berkley rod holders that just push into the foam and strung a bungy cord across just in case,but those cabelas rod holders look pretty nice for 10.00. |
