I am looking for a new reel that can handle throwing pounders. I was looking at the revo toro 60hs. any input would be appreciated.

I use the Shimano Tranx HG its not a cheap real. works great for pounders it takes up line fast so there is no slack in your line when your ripping and pulling .I have it paired with a predator xxheavy

Considering the info on the link Zinos gave, that basically say that you should use slower reels for pounders, I plan to use my Calcutta 400B for my pounder rod.

Good topic to revisit every so often as baits get bigger & new equipment becomes available.
I imagine the moment when a pounder or other weighty bait is released, the rpms & force a reel endures is something to consider also, especially with the longer XXH & XXXH rods used now-a-days. These rods load up great with heavier baits but the load on the reel bearings has to affect lifespan. Possible increase in maintenance for pounder reels perhaps or, a cause for ceramic upgrade.. Hmm, maybe PIKEMASTER will chime in!

I think it all comes down to how you fish with them, and how much.
I thrown Pounders a bit with my 51hs, and it worked but i feel the reel is on the flimsy side, so i prefer to use my Avet SX, Tranx, or ABU 7000.

I have had good luck so far with Saltists for throwing pounders. You can get two for the price of a Tranx, it is not as versatile or smooth however.

I get the same feeling as Zinox though, Pounders seem to test the limits of a Revo HS.

Look for a 700TE or save for a TRANX
