I have a tranx pg that I did not sell .going to buy a new rod. I have a 9 foot Predator heavy and a 9 foot 8in xx heavy Predator. Not sure if I should buy a x heavy or just sell the reel my xx heavy is all most to stiff I bought it for pounders . I was just thinking a x heavy would load up better. has any one used a x heavy predator for pounders ?

I used a guides XH Predator in June throwing double showgirls and then again in Oct. throwing pounders. It worked flawlessly in both situations and has convinced me to get one.

MH47 - I run a 9'6" pred XH and for me, it's awesome. I have my HG paired with it. Throws blades fine, I weight all my blades heavier, so they cast farther. In the rubber game it's sweet. Great for monster medussas, pounders and the like. I also have a 19.5" handle.

best rod I ever used...but a very close second is the big nasty which i was absolutely surprised with how well it threw monster medussas when I was out the other day.

The XH is the most versatile high end rod out there IMHO. Anything from Showgirls to 2 Pounders. It shines with big blades and big Rubber. My go to rod in the fall. The Big Nasty is a great blank too. If you want an off the shelf option.
