personally i have a fleet of 4 of the 9 foot Musky Innovations trolling/livebait rods and think for the money they are as good as it gets... |

| Yep Musky Innovations 9' Live Bait rod is the best I have used. I sell a ton of them,
Got 2 more guys stopping to pick up today.
Ton of backbone for great hooksets and gets the suckers out from the boat a little more.

| I use an 8'6 or 9' Thorne Brothers E Glass Custom... I use these for trolling and they doulbe as a great live bait rod. If you want a strictly "Meat" only rod there are cheap otpions that work out there. the Custom TB Rods are "cheap" by customs standards in the $225-$250 range and are the best sucker/trolling out there IMHO. |

| the Shakespeare Ugly Stick 7' long "Tiger" Rod ,,, model BWC 2202 ,,,, is a good sucker/trolling rod and they are only $60 ------- jim |

Location: Contrarian Island | I hear ya Vince, i'm a big believer in you get what you pay for...i'm never one to skimp on anything and typically try to buy the best of the best but the Musky Inn rods I use are pretty solid and half the price,....i'm not about to invest 1500 in 4 sucker rods..too many other things to buy! ; ) i'm sure they are solid rods tho

Its actually $1200 for four of them. That may be a little more manageable. |

| I've got an Eagle Claw 5'9 rod that I've used for 30 years, and it's just perfect. Don't remember what it cost, probably $20. One thing I don't need is an unwieldy sucker rod that is always half in the water. If this ever breaks, I'd like to find another. |

| Check out fleet farm in the spring for 7' heavy action fiberglass rods. They will not work for trolling, but for live bait they're great. At $20-30 each you can't beat them. |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | I like using the longer rods when using floats. It helps pick up the line much quicker. If I am not using a float and just straight lining the live bait, I use the 7'6" rods. |
