Location: Minneapolis, MN | Looking to upgrade my current musky net, currently using a 32 x 32 net that we got from Dicks that has a knotted rope net, and I'm wondering if there's any advantage to be had by going with the Frabill 9530 Conservation net vs the Frabill 8425 Big Game net or just getting the bag from one of the previously mentioned nets and putting it on the current frame. I don't fish alone if that makes a difference. Thanks for your thoughts. |

Location: Grand Marais, MN | thats a tough size to find a "better" net bag, which would be recommendation, because that hoop is big enough, similar to the one i use. I was just on frabill, only net bag that wouldn't be super saggy that would fit sounds like the same material that you got.
i wonder if any of the other companies have a good replacement bag. I dislike the knotted, stiff material, find it to be a pain in the keister to remove hooks from and can be dangerous to the fish.

If you have no issues with your current net, you don't need a new one.
Well the biggest issue and main reason for wanting to replace is because of the bag. Hooks have a tendency to split the fibers and go through the ropes. The other reason is the bag is only about 28" deep so it doesn' leave a lot of net in the water when hanging from the side of the boat. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | It appears that people prefer the Fin Saver bag, but what about the frame it comes on if buying a complete system and not just the bag? What's the advantage of a more expensive frame over cheaper ones? I'm wondering if there is much difference between a Beckman or Frabill vs. the unnamed brand we have currently. |

Location: Wisconsin | Frabill power catch Big Game for me. Plenty big, yet manageable when solo. I read many posts trying to get the right net for me, and folks here are great to get info from. Some guys like the Beckman as well, but most felt the frabill netting was superior. As for the size, the Big Kahuna is great if you always have a net man. Love my Big Game! |

Well if it makes a difference I really only fish smaller lakes, 1500 acres or less, in a 16.5' CS alumacraft with clamp rod holders. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | There are several Frabill options, Ben R had a nice one I was going to buy, but he had an issue in packaging, darn it. I am running the coated Conservation Series net, and really like it; no issues, nice and light.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Both are high quality bags and I'd be hard pressed to say either one is 'built better', the design of the netting differs considerably but the quality certainly doesn't. You like the Lindy, I like the Frabill. The price is very comparable, depending on where you buy.

Location: Black Creek, WI | I retired my Beckman Fin Saver and replaced it with a Frabill Power Catch. The Fin Saver bag with the smaller loops creates a TON of resistance in the water once the bag is inflated... negating any benefits from the lighter frame. Secondly, the small loops of the fin saver bag creates some very nasty tangles with lure hooks. Nothing worse than adding time to a release due to that mess.... even if you cut hooks just to free the fish from the bag... I still wasted many minutes of fishing time after releasing a fish in an effort to free my lure from the net. For the above two reasons... I converted from a long-time Beckman user to Frabill. Yes, the thicker netting and rubberized material add weight... but it saves a lot of headaches during the unhooking and release of the fish. Good luck with your upgrade. |

| Does anyone use the standard treated bag from beckman any longer? I don't recall having problems with them and it might work on his current net. I like big game bag quite a bit, however as Steve mentioned, it does not hold up to carpet cutting knives... |

Location: New Jersey | I love my Beckman. I don't find any issues with resistance because of the smaller mesh. Fish can't get their heads through, the hooks don't get stuck and it's very well built. I had a Frabill Big Game and after handling both I felt the Beckman was better built and easier to handle. |
