Posts: 161 Location: New Jersey | Can anyone recommend a Inflatable PFD that is comfortable to cast in? I've yet to fall off my boat, but I'd rather not even take the chance when I'm fishing alone in December.

Posts: 8778 | I've got a Stearns model that was around $60. Auto inflates if you go over, and also has a lever you can pull if it fails to inflate in its own. As for comfort? Well, it's clumsy having it on. A few guys I know wear them under their parka to keep them from getting in the way casting. Good idea.

Posts: 463 Location: Sw Pennsylvania | Cabelas 2500 series. I fish now til freeze up. Fell overboard in 39 deg water later and saved my life fishing solo. Wont fish after Nov 1st without some sort of PFD.

Posts: 427 Location: Planet Meltdown | Does anyone have any feedback on the Cabela's Essential 2500 Belt Pack? They see to be less restrictive than a vest which BTW are not designed to be worn under anything so I wouldn't suggest doing so. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/Life-Jackets-Vests/Inflatabl...

Posts: 427 Location: Planet Meltdown | I ended up ordering a Cabela's 3500. They are on sale for $90 on their website right now. I'm not a huge guy so hopefully this will fit comfortably over my cold weather gear.

Posts: 750 Location: Minneapolis, MN | Brad P - 11/5/2013 10:37 AM Is there a recommended brand for the more "shrek like" musky angler? I don't know about the other brands but I know Mustang sells a 12" extension belt for those that may need it.
