Location: SE, WI. | I only use live bait for about 5 or 6 weeks in the fall so Storing live bait is not a problem in cold weather... But I change water about every 4- 6 days pending the warmth of the week. If you have city water, let the water sit for 24-48 hours in a open container before adding live bait to it. make sure water temps stay cool. 38 to 48 ish. Also, must have aeration in live bait. Luckily I have a well and that water is ready to go out of the tap. Also, if you can save rain water In a barrel, that also is excellent water for live bait. If there is warm days expected for two or 3 days in the row, I freeze quart, or gallon jugs of water, and put in bait in the morning, and holds cool temps throughout the day. JD
