| Had a 30-35 repeatedly follow different lures and even a crappie minnow. Would Chase all the way to the boat but would just swim away on ovals or figure 8s. It did seem like it was gonna bite on twitches from a suick sitting on top. Roughly 10-15 times it followed but everytime it seemed like it would bite it would lose interest and swim away. I think this is the same one that followed a spoon twice and disappeared weeks before.
Is there anything else I could try?
Thanks for any help since the fishing has seemed to die down. |

Stupid fish........ Its probably just lonely and is looking for some social interaction. They do that a lot as others here can confirm. I've even had them swim out from shore to the boat to say hi, no lure's in the water.

The other thing that can make fish seem retarded is when they are in "pack mode" You'd think it would create competition but we have seen what appears to be a pack dominance reaction or pecking order. Muskies do not need anything though to act like the brain is shut off....advice of use??
Show him something he has never seen before. Forget the standby's. If he's coming up on a suick maybe jump over to a T.W. A creeper maybe? |

| If the water is clear go back at night or wait till dirty water moves in. This same situation happened to me this spring, moved the same fish at least ten times in the same spot on a lot of different lures. Dirty water moved in on day three and first cast to the spot she ate. |

| two thirds of the way back to the boat speed up your retreive..dip the rod in the water a foot or two down while still increasing your retreive..sweep wide to the side with two feet left of line out and start jerking the bait in the forward motion..pump the bait through a oblong circle...dont make the corners to tight... sometimes it works..sometimes it does not.. |

Speed is the best trick I use. Bring the bait in deep to the boat. Easy on the turns and speed it up on the straights. Depth, direction and speed changes work most of the time. If none if them work during the day go get them after dark. Your odds double once the darkness and quiet settle in. |

| Have your boat partner standing by with a bat. When you pull that fish into the first turn, have your buddy whonk the ****er. It works every time. |

| I like esoxaddict's advice best. Being new to musky still, and having very limited time on the water, it is so frustrating to have one follow in make 1 turn then ghost away. But, what size bat would we use? What would work best, aluminum or wood? Would thickness of the bat matter? How about a telescoping bat to save storage space? |
