Just wanted to ask people on here who might know I have an 8'6" musky mayhem avaio medium heavy rod was wondering if it would be ok to throw pounders with going on a trip to st clair and dont really want to buy a new rod if I dont have too

I think mag dawgs are a stretch on the MH, but can be done. Pounders are a stretch, but can be done on the heavy.

I don't think there is any way you can toss pounders on the MH. If you manage to lob it out there it will be very tough to set hooks.

Go get the 9'. I throw pounders all day with. Great light but strong rod. Good luck at st.clair
