Hey Folks,

The fishing season on the Madison Chain continues to be incredible as reports of the bite there have been almost unheard of before. Many reports of both numbers and big fish have been coming in all summer and the PMTT tournament in 2 weeks on September 6th & 7th should be a great one as always. There are still openings for this tournament and you only have a little over a week left to register and get in. This should be an awesome time, with some of the best fisherman in the musky world today competing in this event.

If you are interested in fishing this PMTT event, call or email the office as it should be a great time. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple weeks.

Thanks,
The PMTT

What is the minimum size for this event? 34" like before or did you drop it down to 30"
Thanks
Jeff

I waited until the last minute (yesterday 8-28/13) to get a hotel, it is a very full weekend there and there are virtually no rooms left in the town, I had to take my last choice of hotel and a room not really well suited to our needs. If you have waited, don't wait any longer!

I am looking forward to this tourney as the bite might be good. Must fish alone as my partner Denny is recovering from surgery so please say a prayer for him.
This is most likely going to be my last Musky tourney as I am not getting any younger and the baits don't get any smaller. Hard on an old man. Look forward to seeing all of you in Madison.

Hi Dewy,

First, I am all on to the "saying a prayer thing," Denny's a great guy and my heartfelt wishes are for a full and speedy recovery.

Second, as to your "second" retirement from the crowd, PLEASE DON'T DEW IT! Without you and Denny, my partner and I will be the oldest team, and with the least amount of hair. When you were gone for most of the last year or so---I really missed you! Say it isn't so!

Thanks Marty but this is it. Going to pursue Walleye. Maybe a Musky tourney if it's on great water. See you next week.

That's what I get when I let the young Bucks handle the IMPORTANT SHNIT !

What has happened to Young Americans ??............... Slackers...!

Anyway, although Homeless for this Tourney,....... I'm looking forward to it......See ya, there..

Seriously, I wasn't kidding, the room thing is tough and, for right this minute, one of us has a pull-out sofa bed!

I'm going to try to speak on two different sides of the issue without speaking out of both sides of my mouth. First, with respect to tournament size limits (or any size limits for that matter) I am for "The bigger the better!" While I was happy to see Wisconsin go to 40, (not 45 as said in the above post) I would have liked 48 even better. I'd also be happy to see 34 or greater as a minimum for catch and release events. That said, I think the comment on "waiting for judge boats" or "not enough judge boats" simply is in error with respect to the PMTT. While I have only been a complete "trail team member" (that's fishing every single event) for the last three years, I have witnessed the opposite. The judge boats seem to be all over, clearly marked, well trained, well thought out as to placement and never less than 10-12 out there. It's been some time since the PMTT fished the Madison Chain, and things might have been different then, but I am betting that nobody is going to wait anything like 20 minutes this weekend and probably not a quarter of that. I also beleive that if the water is unsafe to fish, weather is dangerous, or any other legit reason, the PMTT will act accordingly. In short, these people really know how to run a tournament and I consider myself lucky to have them around to provide the highest possible standards to do so. So, with respect to raising the size from 30 to 34, yea, I am all for it.....but with respect to any sort of thought that the PMTT is not being totally responsible here....no I reject that! Good Post Marty,...and right on,....I've been a trail member for 8 yrs. and can tell you that the PMTT runs a top notch business.
No way will you have to wait for 20 min. for a judge ..

It only should take about 8-10 min. to register a fish....The fish is only out of the water for a measurement, and a quick pic...no more than 20-30 seconds.

As far as the length goes,...I'd like to see the 34" minium also or at the least 32".... I can see why the PMTT goes to 30" though, ....They want more People to be able to qualify for the Championship.

Just my take from someone who has fished about 37 PMTT events.

Wasn't my intent to inject any thoughts that the PMTT isn't being responsible. I fish the chain a fair amount, tournaments included (WMT and Ironman) and actually was going to fish the tournament but something came up (won't get into that). My point is, for some reason or another, I've seen more wardens/sheriffs out there this year than any other year in the past.
