Nice.trip, first year for me not getting up there, my works vacation policy will probably keep it that way. Interesting how there are so many huge bluegill and crappie on the west side and all but non existent on the east side.

i can't wait!was up on eagle practice casting last week.saw 48,lost 8,caught 10.nuttin' big,42 was my biggest.lots of action!caught my first muskies ever on a wounded stick[suick].up there its the law that you have to be off the water at sunset so that makes it mandatory to start emptying cans at dark,it's the law, so i should be in good shape for the deck.

Thanks everyone especially Joe, Steve and Steve.

Had a great time meeting some new friends this year and the great Spring Bay hospitality! The Big V always seems to be tough, but that what keeps me coming back. Hope to see everyone next year!

I just got back from MN yesterday and miss the fishing and getting to know others already. It was a great time! Thanks Don and Kim, Jerome and Steve for taking me out with you. It was fun fishing and getting to know you all. Joe and Steve from Spring Bay also deserve a big thanks for working with me on the boat rental.

Here are a couple pics of the fish we caught on the last day, Friday. A buddy who lives in Virginia, MN came to fish with me for the day. He wasn't part of the outing and had never musky fished, and hadn't fished at all for 12 years... I put him on a topraider and he got the hang of casting pretty quick. He caught a 41" after about an hour and may be a future fishing partner when I get back up there. He saw the fish following for a couple seconds before it smashed the lure. He did a good job waiting to set the hook too. He enjoyed giving me a hard time about not catching one yet, until later that night when I caught a bigger one. My fish (my first musky caught casting) came after sunset and before the moon started peeking over the trees. It nailed a hawg wobbler and I managed to break my rod on the hookset. I didn't really get to enjoy the fight and had to muscle it in. The broken piece of rod got hung on the electric motor a bit, but luckily came off. She made a few runs, bending the last and only guide left, but we managed to net her. She wasn't hooked bad and was not out of the water long at all for the quick measurement and a couple pics, but I had to spend at least 20 minutes to get her to swim upright. She wanted to go before that, but I held onto her to make sure we didn't have to chase her down again. My only regret is not getting pics of a LM (about 4 lbs) that hit a hawg wobbler and an at least 5 lb SM that hit a DC10. Hopefully I can make it up again next year.
