| I have a minnkota power drive with a built in transducer and have my lowrance hooked up to it and lately it doesn't read the depth and it'll come and go and never picks up the depth when you first put it in. But the temp works..could that be the transducer in the trolling motor or something else? |

Location: Elgin, IL | Could possibly be. Questions are how old is it, has it been dinged around a bit or has it been affected by temperature conditions in the seasons. Use another unit and see if you get same results. In my opinion that would be the start in checking the source of your problem. If not check with lowrance. |

| I bought it used last year and it came off of an 06 I believe. I've always had it suported while transporting it to the bow so it doesn't bounce around. I have the original transducer that came with it so I might give that try |

| I have a V2 Powerdrive, and had that problem too. I only had the problem when I was first starting, or picking up and moving. I make sure the HDS5 is either off or in standby until it is in the water. Since I've been turning it on after the trolling motor transducer is deployed, I have had very few problems. |

Location: Weyauwega Wi. | I had the same problem. if you can try another unit. I moved my HDS-7 to the front and the problem was still there. It ended up being the built in transducer. I had it changed and the problem is gone. |

| Try turning your noise reduction on and your surface clarity on. |
