Pros and cons? Looks to be a good finder for the price.

I don't own a 240, however, I have seen the new eagle 320's and they look very nice. You might want to look at those as well. Enjoy the new boat. I put one of those new eagle tri-finders on my bow, its supposed to have a 150degree conse to give a better view of the bottom, we'll see.

The 240 is a great structure finder. Very easy to learn to use, and versatile on the water. One thing I don't like is that it tracks slowly, even on the fast setting. They are priced very low right now at Cabelas- $229 I believe.

I've had a Garmin 240 for about 1.5 years now. I love it. The detail is great and it is very easy to use.

I've ordered a new boat and plan on mounting the 240 in the bow. I'm looking at Garmin's GPS/Sounder 188 for the console.

The Garmin 240 is great. Best depthfinder for the money!

I've run mine for one season and no complaints. Works great and worth the money.

I have one and love it. I have fished with Lowrance 85's and I like my Garmin more.

I researched the x-85 and the 240, the 240 has all the same features and the power ratings are about the same. For the $$ I went with the Garmin, its a great unit.

Hi guys..

Lookin for a little jewelry for the new baby...that's great

In the past 3 seasons I have run 2 G-240's and one 160. Great units and normally I would have said run...don't walk to the nearest place and buy one....However.

This past weekend I had a chance to see the new Eagle 320...WOW.... I played with a display model at a local store.

Less money, more power, better clarity...Very user frindly product from Lowrance (Eagle parent company)

Either one would be a great choice...if I were buying one today I would be hard pressed not to buy the Eagle.
